Rick Schmidt – Ask Rick:
July has arrived, bringing with it a time for celebration filled with fireworks and barbecues! Happy Independence Day to all! This day serves as a significant reminder of the sacrifices made by our founding fathers, who fought tirelessly for our freedom and independence. Their bravery initiated a remarkable journey into democracy—a journey that we are entrusted to uphold and protect. Let us take this opportunity to reflect on the invaluable gift of liberty we cherish today.
Rick’s Take On Car Collections:
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to tour the personal car collection of Rick Hendrick. His collection features an extensive array of Corvettes, as well as a remarkable selection of other noteworthy vehicles from around the globe. Given my own interest in automotive collections, I was curious to hear Rick’s insights on the various levels of car collecting that exist. Rick noted that many people have remarked that his collection rivals that of Jay Leno, which may indeed be the case. However, Leno is known for his eclectic assortment of rare and often unobtainable vehicles, including multiple Duesenbergs, a luxury that Rick does not possess in the same quantity. Ricks collection does however contain many amazing deals over the years as well as the research to insure that the vehicles are what they claim to be.
Rick elaborated that car collections can vary significantly based on the financial resources available to curators. He recommended visiting both the Nethercutt Collection in California and the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida, as these collections profoundly showcase vehicles from their respective eras and can greatly enhance one’s appreciation for automotive history.
Rick’s Picks! Cars Everyone Will Love – Cars to Pick For The Independence Day Parade
It’s Independence Day and we need an all American parade car, pronto! Which of these cars is the BEST purchase to you….but ALSO the best star-spangled-banner car to ANY parade patron? The goal here is to combine the best automotive purchase with the car that you think any patron (car savvy or not) would recognize as Americana. Your max purchase price is $60K and you’ll sell the car to someone else – for the same reason – before next year’s parade. ROI (Cash not Percentage) is the goal:
Car #1: 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, 363-Powered, 5-Speed
